White Tiger is a mantle held by several characters in Marvel Comics, each imbued with the power of the Tiger God. The original, and arguably most well-known, is Hector Ayala. A Puerto Rican college student, Ayala discovered the Tiger Amulets, granting him enhanced strength, speed, agility, and senses.
Ayala used these powers to fight crime as the White Tiger. His career was fraught with challenges, including addiction to the amulet's power and struggles against personal demons. He was eventually framed for murder and tragically shot attempting to escape custody, believing his powers could exonerate him.
After Hector's death, the White Tiger mantle was passed on, most notably to his sister, Ava Ayala. Ava received the power through her family's connection to the Tiger God, serving as a member of the Avengers Academy and later the Mighty Avengers. She fights to honor her brother's legacy and uphold the principles of justice.
Other individuals have briefly held the White Tiger mantle, but Hector and Ava Ayala remain the most prominent figures associated with the character, representing a legacy of power and responsibility.
